Web Designer
The Krell Institute is seeking a web designer with 3-7 years of employment experience in web design and electronic media.
This Designer will work with the senior team to develop websites for various audiences, purposes and clients. It is important that this Designer have a firm understanding of the latest web design principles, trends, and technologies. Should have experience developing designs that work on open-source content managements systems (for example, Drupal, WordPress) and should be able to work at all stages of a web project through to completion – forming initial concept, creating a site map, designing pages, and publishing and maintaining the site.
Advanced-level skills in Flash, web design software including Dreamweaver, HTML and other related programming software is required. Experience incorporating multi-media elements into a design will be necessary. Working knowledge in Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus.
An undergraduate major in design or communications is preferred, experience working with copy or copywriter is desired.

Software Engineer
The Krell Institute is seeking a Software Engineer to join an
existing team of science and communication specialists.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, produce
high-quality work, and possess good interpersonal skills.
Qualified applicants will have a minimum of a bachelor’s
degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Applicants
with a bachelor’s degree in a related area, and a minimum
of two years of experience in web-based programming, will also be
considered. Additional qualifications include experience in
server and client side languages such as PHP and Perl;
experience in SQL programming and/or database administration;
excellent communication, presentation and writing skills.
Applicant must be a US citizen or permanent
resident.
