Krell has been involved in numerous projects over the years that, while no longer being actively developed, have been deemed of sufficient value to remain available on the Web.

The Adventures in Supercomputing (AiS) program was designed to offer an interdisciplinary approach to project-based curriculum using the techniques of the still-developing field of computational science. A major product of this program was an online textbook in computational science at the high school level.

The Undergraduate Computational Engineering and Science (UCES) project, like AiS, was intended to promote the teaching of computational science, but at the undergraduate level. Its primary emphasis was on collecting, developing, and distributing educational materials in computational science suitable for undergraduates and advanced secondary school students. Krell maintains an online archive of these materials and, judging by the number of hits many of these still get, it is apparent that these materials possess enduring quality and value.
