The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory at Princeton University is the premier DOE Laboratory in magnetic fusion and basic plasma physics research. Computational research in areas such as nonlinear magnetohydrodynamics and kinetic plasma turbulence provide a rich environment for developing and applying advanced numerical techniques. Problems in computational plasma physics are truly large-scale and require fully utilizing high performance computers with respect to both shared memory supercomputers and distributed memory massively parallel machines.
