The Krell Institute helps the scientific community gain support for
their projects. Krell frequently assists with initiatives that
advance high-performance computing for the scientific and technology
communities, as well as serving as a technology support system.
This includes event planning, web hosting, publication development,
application submission and review, post-event streaming and a
plethora of other opportunities.
OpenHPC
OpenHPC promotes the development, dissemination and application of
open-source software in high-performance computing (HPC). Managed by
the Krell Institute, OpenHPC was founded to support open-source
software in high-performance computing. Open HPC engages advanced,
high-quality research projects with potential to impact HPC, as well
as organize funding from vendors and others to turn their software
into products with a real user community. You can find out
more about OpenHPC at

Applications
Performance Matrix
The Applications Performance Matrix, or “Apps Matrix”, is
a powerful and dynamic database-driven website, available through the
Krell Institute website, that provides a centralized and neutral
location for a plethora of information to be stored and accessed.

Fusion Simulation Project
The ultimate objective of the Fusion Simulation Project (FSP) is to
predict the behavior of any discharge in a torodial magnetic fusion
device on all important time and space scales. In essence, this
leads to the capability of carrying out “virtual
experiments” of burning magnetically-confined plasmas. The
Krell Institute was an active partner in this Fusion program: it organized
a working meeting to advance the agenda of the organization; maintained an
informational website (this link provides
the charge letter and some related documents); and assisted with the production of the
subcommittee final report
(Volume 1 and
Volume 2) for the funders.
